How Do You Lead?
According to society, leadership means taking charge. I believe leadership is solving problems. I believe until you have led in each role of your company, you aren’t an affective leader. For both of my companies, I had to run each aspect of my business to discovery how I wanted to run my business. I was the CEO, the manager, the accountant, etc. Not only did it show me how to better lead Myeka Johnson, INC – but it showed me from POV how I should help, assist, and guide my employees so they can give us their best ability.
When I was younger, I never wanted to be a leader. I wanted to be a CEO. I dreamed of one day having a company with my name on it that represented me and my many talents. And, I did. As I grew as a person and as a CEO, I learned that a leader exist no matter what. Mainly, through the eyes of others. Despite this, I choose NOT to lead, but to be my authentic self. In other words, I go – you join.
In many cases, we feel we are responsible for leading others, but our job is to create then lead our own way for many to then, follow. Leaders are rare because of fear, insecurity, and doubt in the outcome. Followers chose the journey to follow because of the “I’ll see how it goes” mindset. This won’t get you anywhere but as far as your mind will go.
In conclusion, how you lead is your choice but WHO you lead shows your leadership.
Keep leading!
