Six years ago, I moved to New York. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. It was hard and many will agree, it still is. It’s tough living in the city and no matter how stable you think you are – there is always something. Around the same time I moved to New York, I begin investing my money in land and tiny homes. Eventually, I will complete building my dream home but in the meantime – let’s buy a New York City property.
I promised myself I would no longer rent in New York. This time around, I want to own. A few weeks ago, I decided not to renew my lease. I was living in one of my tiny homes away from the city and had time to think of which goal to complete and which goal to start. Now that I have a permanent place to live outside of the city, it’s now time for me to focus on purchasing my dream place in New York.
Over the years, I have blogged about New York from The Pros and Cons of Living in New York and My New York City bucket list.
With that being said, my decision to buy will be based on location and budget.
While traveling to and from each coast, I will be deciding on which property to build my dream home. I almost own 100 acres of land and I own a few tiny homes in different states. My goal, when I first started this journey, was to make sure I have long-term stability. Not just having a permanent place to live, but being financially stable long term.
Making New York my permenant residence is a dream come true. When I first moved to New York, many things had me doubting I would stay for a long time. Now, after being in New York for more than five years – I realized New York is where I belong. New York is me. Here’s to a new journey.
